Before making a booking please read through the following:

Who is qualified to administer The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy™?

Only those practitioners who have successfully completed the first two levels of training, which includes Self-Care and Professional Care Training are qualified to apply these techniques in their practice. Practitioners who have completed Certification are advanced practitioners who have completed the requirements, such as case studies and advanced body work applications.

Contraindications, Cautions, and Modifications

The Arvigo Techniques of Maya Abdominal Therapy™ are safe and effective with few contrainidcations of untoward outcomes. There are certain conditions where application of these techniques are either contraindicated or require modification. Please consult with your practitioner if you have any questions.

Women

  • During active menstruation. If you are on a menstrual cycle, do not make a booking at a time when you are going to be on your period or 4-5 days before your period is due. Treatments are done either side of your period. If you are unsure of where you are in your cycle, it is best to have your next period then book in a day or so after your period finishes right up until 4-5 days before your period is due to start again.
  • IUD (intra-uterine device for contraception) is present.
  • Immediately after abdominal surgery. Seek the advice of your physician as to when is safe to perform Abdominal Therapy.
  • Active infection or cancer present in pelvic area, or while undergoing chemotherapy.
  • During the first trimester (19 weeks) of pregnancy (modification)
  • Hiatal Hernia (gentle massage required)
  • Active and acute infection
  • Abdominal Aneurysm
  • Diastasis Rectus
  • Pessary for uterine prolapse (remove prior to your session)

Men
